The Fool is now aware of his mortality and steps back out onto the Way – but now he will look over his shoulder before he leaps. He has been given the gift of life.
In each of these experiences, we can learn the combination of the Death card with all the Major Arcana. As an example, the Fool + Death combination might signify the dance of time in a situation, relationship, life, etc. They together are the process of transformation and the freedom of life in change. They call for a recognition of agency and consequence in life.
We will learn each combination implicitly in each of the encounters, but you may wish to journal it or return to it later and write down the meanings that arise for you in these combinations.
